Short thoughts on recent to recent-ish films
If any of you disagree or get offended, I’m sorry, but suck it up.
Also, when I say recent-ish, it means months back. It’s 6am and I’m getting too lazy to type any more than this, so figure out the rest yourselves.
HP7 - GG. ★★★1/2
Tron: Legacy - lolitscoobutneedsmoreplotyadig ★★★
Tangled - Too much singing. ★
Megamind - …Good enough? ★
Skyline - Great CGI, but the plot wasn’t working for me. ★★1/2
The Social Network - Nice, nice. ★★★★
Life As We Know It - Cute, but typical rom-com. ★
Paranormal Activity 2 - … ★
Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps - Nice, nice. ★★
Easy A - Not as great as I expected. ★
The Switch - Rom-com, ‘nuff said. ★
The Expendables - Amazing cast, but failed to use their talents properly. ★★1/2
Dinner for Schmucks - Funny. ★★
Inception - Mind still blown. ★★★★
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice - Why do I watch this stuff? ★
Despicable Me - Ahhh, it’s so fluffy… ★★1/2
Hereafter - It’s different. ★★
The Last Airbender - Good enough. ★★
Grown Ups - Not that great. ★1/2
Toy Story 3 - /tear ★★
Karate Kid - Eh, good enough. ★
Killers - Funny-ish. ★★
Sex and the City 2 - … ★
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - Great, only Jake didn’t seem to fit the role. ★★
Get Him to the Greek - Lol. ★★
Burlesque - Xtina, please don’t ever act again. Thumbs up on the costumes though. ★
Faster - Typical, and corny at times. ★★
Due Date - My friends were on crack thinking this was hilarious. ★1/2
Eat, Pray, Love - …Everyone who thinks this is amazing is on crack too. 1/2
And yes, I rate movies very harshly.
For any movie to get 5 stars, it must be AMAZING. As in on par with Lord of the Rings, 300, Alexander, 10000 BC, Apocalypto, etc. Costumes, cast, settings, plot, CGI, SFX, make up, attention to detail, the mood, everything. It has to be perfect. At least in the eyes of the viewers, because no one needs to see what shit goes on behind the scenes.
Anyways, I don’t even know why I wrote this when I should be sleeping. Ciao.
